John Carter will be released in IMAX 3D

IMAX Corporation and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures announced that the action-sci-fi film John Carter will be released in IMAX 3D on March 9, 2012, along with its worldwide release. The studio announced Monday according to Coming soon.net

John Carter is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs and stars Taylor Kitsch, Willem Dafoe and Lynn Collins, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton. You can check official synopsis and teaser trailer from previous post.

"Audiences will immediately feel transported in the epic adventure of 'John Carter,'" said Dave Hollis, Executive Vice President, Theatrical Exhibition Sales and Distribution, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. "Andrew Stanton has envisioned this vast landscape in a way that's not been seen before, and we're thrilled to be able to offer our viewers this film in the immersive IMAX 3D format."

Below is the official synopsis for John Carter.
From Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter”–a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

Marvel & Disney announces John Carter: World of Mars, a comic prequel the John Carter Movie

Marvel & Disney Publishing Worldwide Announce announces John Carter: World of Mars, a comic prequel that leads up to the movie, according to ComingSoon.net says The prequel, entitled "John Carter: Worlds of Mars" will run as a four-issue miniseries by Peter David and Luke Ross. Launching this October, it will feature the diverse characters of Burroughs' worlds in adventures that set the stage for the film version, going back as far as fifty years before the events of John Carter.

John Carter - Introducing and release date

The 2012 upcoming movie John Carter (also know as John Carter of Mars) is the sci-fi action adventure movie based on a character from a classic science fiction novel "A Princess of Mars"  by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The movie is directed by Andrew Stanton also marks the first time direct on a live-action movie. He is known the one of best animation director from famous animated movie Finding Nemo and WALL-E. The both animation obtain Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

John Carter is starring Taylor Kitsch as former veteran captain John Carter who is transported to Mars. including Willem Dafoe as Tars Tarkas and Lynn Collins as Princess Dejah Thoris, also stars Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Bryan Cranston and Thomas Hayden Church. The film produced by Jim Morris, Colin Wilson, and Lindsey Collins.
